Regional Security in Africa
Regional security and stability is a major concern for the African Union due to widespread armed conflict and political uncertainty in the region. Delegates will have to take into consideration the political and cultural complexities inherent in each conflict, ranging from the war against Boko Haram to the South Sudanese civil war. In addition to this, delegates are encouraged to work towards ensuring post-conflict stability and will need to decide how they should resolve long term issues caused by conflict like the destruction of infrastructure and war crime accountability.
